Riding and DIY work carry real risk

Riding a motorcycle and working on one can lead to serious injury, death, or property damage. If you follow any riding technique, maintenance step, or repair guide on this site, you do so at your own risk. Use proper safety gear and the right tools, work within your skill level, and if you are unsure about anything, especially brakes, tires, suspension, fuel, or electrical systems, have a qualified mechanic do the job. We strongly recommend taking an approved rider training course, such as the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic RiderCourse.

Motorcycle prices, specifications, insurance rates, and traffic and licensing laws change often and vary by state, model year, and market. Figures we publish are estimates based on the sources we cite at the time of writing. They are not quotes or guarantees. Please check current information with the manufacturer, a dealer, your insurer, or your state’s DMV before making a decision.

Our free tools

Tools such as our tire pressure lookup and motorcycle size tool give general guidance only. If a tool’s result ever disagrees with the label on your bike or your owner’s manual, go with the label or manual.
